Disney on Ice 2018

48971452_10217952817712921_1396355616674414592_oLast December, I whispered a desperate prayer. I really wanted to watch Disney on Ice with Aoki. She loves the Disney princess. I just know that seeing them up close will make her day. Scratch that. Seeing Belle, Cinderella, Jasmin and Elsa will make her year. But but but, yes there is a but. Even if my kids’ happiness is priceless, Disney on Ice comes with a price tag. I am still kuripot to the core. PHP 1400-PHP2600 for a two hour show per person just isn’t practical. Disney Live! Mickey’s Rockin’ Road Show this September

I am so excited for Aki! In a few weeks, we are going to see our favorite mouse.  Seeing Mickey Mouse for the first time last January was the best way to kickoff 2012. Seeing Mickey again would for sure bring out the biggest smiles.

Disney Live! Mickey’s Rockin’ Road Show, Feld Entertainment’s all-new live stage production starring Mickey Mouse in a fun-filled road trip and talent search adventure, performs at Smart Araneta Coliseum from September 15 to 15, 2012!  Spotlighting favorite Disney characters such as the ever-lovable Tigger; Cinderella and her comical stepsisters; and Buzz Lightyear, Woody and friends from Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story; Disney Live! Mickey’s Rockin’ Road Show unfolds through an original, laugh-out-loud storyline that whisks audiences away on a wacky journey.

Produced by Kenneth Feld and Alana Feld, the show revolves around a one-of-a-kind, unpredictable road trip as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Donald spontaneously attempt to round up amazing acts for their talent show. Thanks to Mickey’s fantastical bus, they are able to soar over mountains and plunge underwater to complete their search for performers. Through the incorporation of a giant video screen and multiple scenic projection panels, audiences are able to enjoy a truly visual experience as the scenic backdrop takes them through country hillsides, a cactus-filled desert, a royal village and other picturesque locales.

“What really sets Disney Live! Mickey’s Rockin’ Road Show apart is that it incorporates classic Disney characters into a set of silly ‘cartoon rules’ where anything can happen and fun knows no boundaries,” says Producer Kenneth Feld. “Families get to create lasting memories as they embark on a thrilling, high-energy, theatrical excursion with their favorite Disney friends, right in their hometown.”

Disney Live! Mickey’s Rockin’ Road Show spotlights beloved characters performing a variety of talents as they sing and dance to a mix of hip Disney tunes. Audiences can join Cinderella as she performs “Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo”; hoot and holler at a hoedown with Woody, Jessie and Buzz Lightyear;and bounce along with Tigger to “The Whoop-De-Dooper Bounce.”

Aki meets Mickey Mouse

Last December 26, Aki had the time of his life when he met Mickey Mouse for the first time. Watching the show was not part of our holiday plans and budget but who in the right mind would say “no thank you” to free tickets right?
I wasn’t sure if Aki is already ready to watch a real show. One,  I he does not like big crowds. He knows Mickey and the gang but not the princesses and villains. Lastly, he does not sit still for 2 hours EVER.

We parked in front of SM Hypermat. This was Aki’s reaction upon seeing the poster

I read in one review that the food choices inside were not toddler friendly so we ate first at Tempura. Happiness is when your toddler who has not had a proper meal in days, eats two tempuras, one  chicken tendori and half of his miso soup.

When we got inside, I was surprised to see that Araneta was packed!! To think it was a Monday. Good thing we were there early because the show started on time.

I loved stage production. It is amazing how lights and cloths can transform a stage. Franco liked Jasmine’s sexy costume.  But what we will remember the most is Aki’s reaction upon seeing Mickey Mouse.

More pictures and some tips after the cut. Continue reading “Aki meets Mickey Mouse”
