Maqui's Me Time

Guess who turned three? {Plus a giveaway .. sort of}

Our little family’s online diary turned three today! Yey! All this time, I thought my blog’s anniversary was Friday last week until WordPress notified me this morning.

I made these really yummy, chewy, kinda salty choco chip cookies this morning. In my almost 3 years of baking, this is the best batch of cookies that I made. Even Franco, who is not into sweets like them.

No mushy post today unlike last year. Just want to thank everyone who has been reading my blog regularly or irregularly. Thank you for celebrating my successes with me and for the cyber moral support whenever I was feeling down.  And to my online friends who take time out of their busy schedules to leave a comment, I love you!!!!!!! I read a lot of blogs too. About 90% of the time, I really want to leave a comment but there is always something more urgent to do like, hmmm, let me think, oh like  go to work. In my defense, I only give myself an hour everyday to be online, usually from 5-6AM. In that hour, I blog, I stalk other blogs, check N@w, check my emails, quickly browse Facebook and dream that I have more time to comment. By the time CAPTCHA tells me that I typed in the wrong code for the nth time, the water that Ate heated for my bath is already cold. Anyhoo, thank you again for sharing your thoughts with me.

I was in Booksale  this afternoon and guess what I found? Two copies of Someday by Alison Mcghee. I wish I could give a copy to everyone who left a comment on my Someday post. Unfortunately, I only have two.  So if you want a copy, all you have to do is

1) Share this post via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+ and LinkedIn

2) Add me in Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn

3) Lastly, leave a comment with your full name plus a haiku that you made on any topic of your choice..

That is it. Easy peasy, right?

Just kidding. If you want a copy, just leave a comment saying that you do. Deadline of entries is … I don’t know.  We will pick the winners via… I  don’t know too. Winners will get their prize via…hmm.. someday I will know.  Haha.  All I know was that when I saw these books, I immediately thought of everyone who commented on my post. I know at least 10 online friends who would like to have a copy so I bought both copies. Blogging and all the perks that come with it , makes me feel so loved so I am in the mood for sharing and giving back the love.

We have already chosen the lucky mommies! The books will go to Jenny and Vanessa because they had the longest comment.  🙂

  1. Sis maqui,

Congratulations on your blog’s anniversary!! I haven’t been able to visit for several weeks, eeep! I have been reading your blog every now and then and found it so enlightening to read. I admire how you manage your time especially with a kid and working full time, while I can’t even keep up with my errands and no kid yet. Care to share how you do it? I need time management seminar ata hahaha.

I would like to join your giveaway. I’d like to read it to my kid SOMEDAY. I’m expecting our first child this June! And it’s a boy like your Aki. Now I would be able to relate better to your posts! And oh, I have to mention, you introduced me to Booksale! I’ve always loved books but never thought of entering Booksale until your blog. I’ve finally purchased my first Booksale book yesterday, Baby Sign Language. Thanks to you, books can be so affordable pala =)

  3. Hi! I stumbled upon your blog because a friend sent me a link. The first thing that caught my eye was your funny blog name. 🙂 But now I can’t leave, and am slowly backreading your posts. 🙂 I love books but if you pick me as your winner, I will give this to my sister who is a new mom. Thanks and happy anniversary!

I need and want a copy of Someday by A.Mcghee 🙂 After reading your Someday post, last Saturday, I went to the ONLY National Bookstore and Booksale here in Palawan..pero wala 😦 I even asked National for copies from other branches in Manila. Wala din:( browsed online pero from Amazon lang. One of my fears kasi is growing old. Not bec of saggy breasts and wrinkles.. Bec someday my 2 toddlers will leave our home.:(
I love your posts about books from booksale. Kaso we only have one booksale here kaya I end up buying from National Bookstore. I bought Love You forever bec of your blogpost 🙂 Thanks.

  10. Hi, Happy 3rd year anniversary to your Blog… I guess, I’m one of your silent followers since I discovered your Aki’s Baptism entries… that would be 2 years ago na din. 🙂

I know, I didn’t reacted on your “Someday” entry (silent follower kse, hehe)… but I was here in the office when I read it… good thing it was lunch time, and almost everyone’s one for lunch… I had to fight back tears too! hehe… I know, am kinda emotional the past days. Anyway, what am trying to say is… I’d love to get a copy of that too (with fingers crossed). If not, i’ll just hunt it also for myself in one of the nearest BookSale I can find. hehe…

Congrats again and Happy Anniv! 🙂

  12. Hi Maqui! Just like you, there are a number of blogs that I read but rarely comment on. Either I am too busy or I am too slow to find the words to leave on some blog posts that I find really interesting.

I would like to have the book. I am collecting books now for baby Geoff, and well, I am nowhere near the number that you have on your list, but I am getting there. Hopefully Geoff will grow up loving books as well.

Happy anniversary to the madammisismummy blog. Looking forward to more of your blog entries about being a mom, a woman, and a wife. God bless.
