Akisms · Memoirs of a Mummy

A Conversation with my 22 month old Toddler

This was last week. It was about 7AM. Aki and I just woke up. Aki took the Everywhere Babies book from our bedroom book box and asked me to read it. When I opened the book he immediately noticed this picture

Aki’s face lit up. He looked at me as he excitedly pointed at the picture of the  mother.

Me – Sino yan, Aki? (Who is that, Aki?)
Aki – Mam-muh (Mommy)
Me (smiling proudly) – Tama, Aki. Yan si Mameh.

Aki then pointed at the picture of the baby.
Me – Sino yan, Aki? (Who is that, Aki?)
Aki – Ttttti (Aki)
Me – Yan nga si Aki. (Yes, that is Aki)
Aki  (looking and pointing at the picture of the baby ) – moooooooh (Small)
Aki (looking at me as repeatedly pointed at his chest)( In a loud, almost shouting proud voice) – Beeeeee (Big)
Me- (grinning from ear to ear)  Oo, Aki. Ikaw ang big boy ng Mameh. ( That’s right. You are Mummy’s big boy)

Aki then hugged me tightly and gave me a nice wet kiss on my left ear.
