Do you like crafts, too? Do you also keep recyclable items for future projects? Do you also tend to dump everything in your craft box? I do. I do. I do!
Here’s how my craft box used to look like. To think that I consciously tried to lie low on craft projects last year because of our wealth management new years resolution, there still are too many items in there. I don’t have the heart to throw my art materials away because I might need them one day. This box was in a corner of our room for most of 2012. It was a major eyesore but we got used to it.
After hours of cleaning and sorting, here is how it looks like now..
Drum rolls please….
This shoes organizer was one of the very first items we bought when we got married. It was very useful when we were still living in a teensy weensy studio type room in Washington. When we moved in to this house, there was no place anymore for the organizer. After 3 years, I found a use for it. This just justifies that there is sense in holding on to items that could possibly be useful in the future even if they take up so much space now. Haha. Excuses.
Anyhoo, I really like the deep spacious pockets. The top pockets are for future recyclable items and for items that I bought but have not used.
The second left pocket is for the staple craft supplies like glue, tape and stapler. The right pocket is for my yarns, strings and ribbons.
The third layer is for my paper supplies. The left side is for different sheets of paper while the other is for envelopes, stickers, templates, and brown paper bags.
The next is for cloths. The left side holds felt fabrics. I have a lot of them and even have more project in mind but I don’t have the energy, patience and most importantly, time to sew these days. The left side are for fabrics for my now-defunct pillow project.
The last layer is for paints and other paper products.
After this decluterring project, I realized that I have two bottles of glue, enough blue construction paper for two years and way too many projects that I planned but never started. I still don’t have the time to work on those but now that everything is organized, I am inspired to get crafty again.
